The Incorriptible Seed

Dale, I always hear you talking about the new creation. And you know, the creation that God is creating is the greater works in us. Lois and I read a psalm this morning, "unless God builds the house, they that labor labor in vain, that try to build it.” If you're trying to work your way into a greater work that God says, you have already been given, better question that. It's a fight of faith. Well, what is faith? Believing God.

First Peter 1:23, "being born from above, not of corruptible seed, but incorruptible seed, by the Word of God, which liveth and abideth, forever. God had no Genesis. It takes you a minute to think about that, but that's true. We were created at the foundation of the earth with incorruptible seed. See, that's what's alive in you. That's the thing that God has ministering to, is that incorruptible seed that you started with. What is He working on? He's working on an incorruptible seed. And He's watering you, He's, He's tending to you, He's yanking on us, saying, come on, come on. What does God work with? Appropriation; He'll yank on your little bit, get your attention. This is yours son, all you got to do is take it, all you got to do is appropriate it. All you have to do is say, I believe it. He can work with that. I think that God has caused us, He has worked with us. He's put us up on the bench, and we become His workmanship. By the time that that lump of clay gets to the potter to create something, it's been through a lot. It's been treated, it's been massaged, had things put in it, it's had things taken out of it. When that lump of clay goes on the turntable, it's ready to be shaped and formed. I think we're being shaped and formed, there was additives that they put to the clay, it's a certain kind of clay, because you're going to go through the fire. And God is going to solidify His creation. And if that clay is not the right clay, and if that clay is not the right thickness, and the right additives and stuff, it'll explode. And I think that there is a preparation that God has been doing to us, His workmanship.

When you're the potter and you mess around with that clay, the worst thing that can happen is for that clay to harden up. Because the moment it starts to harden up, you lose that flexibility. Therefore His creativity is hindered in what He wants to do with that pot. Religion is hardening. Seeking your own way as another form of hardening. Where the opposite to me humility and the Word washes you. You're washed by the water of the Word that water keeps you moist and flexible. That humility keeps you low. He can do much more with us when we're in that state.

That's such a beautiful thought, Mike, I love that. But the freedom that you have, by just being in a place where you're pliable, and you're not restricted by a man's opinion, knowing that the Lord is our God. We're being created. And it's not something that we're doing except by being pliable, free to do His will. Does that pot on the bench say to the one who's forming him, you're not doing it right it needs to come faster, it needs to come slower, it needs to be higher, it needs to be lower? No, he simply submits his life as a pot to be made by the potter. But I think we try to hard. When we turn to the Lord, we simply say, Lord, I love you. And we turn to Him in our hearts. Whether we're high or low, whether we're mad or feeling bad or feeling great, it's all the same, we just simply turn to the Lord. And it's so simple. I think we're coming to a place when we're going to take out the hardness and the difficulty of walking with God, going forward, and bring it into a simplicity of faith and believing God. Trust. Trust is huge. Do you know that God puts things in your way just to see if you will trust Him? You can prove that by looking at Job's life. Job went through a dealing for a lot of time. And he was in a bad place. He never discriminated or was anguish at God. Yeah, he wished he'd never been born, maybe; yeah, I get that. Because it was hard. But he never stopped trusting. Think about that. He never stopped trusting the Father. He knew His works. Now he just need to know His ways. And God taught him His ways. And he said, Now I understand. Now I see what God is like, because now I know Him. And I think that's the thing that all of us are beginning to realize. God wants us to know Him. He wants the same relationship that He had with Adam and Eve. He wants the same relationship that He had with the Lord with Christ. He wants to be able to speak to us, He wants us to be able to hear what He's saying. I submit to what You're speaking.

Would you say this Ken, that Christ took the experience of job to a new level? Because He'd never defended Himself. And when it was time to go to the cross, He chose to do it.

That's the kind of trust that God's looking for in us. When you get into the deepest, despairing places in your life. And you simply trust God, that pleases the Father. Because you're not relying on your own efforts to dig your way out. You're simply saying, Lord, I trust you. The truth of that is such a reality to us today. We've been through this storm. And here we are, walking with God, trusting Him, moving forward, believing that He's leading us into this absolutely wonderful New Day of the kingdom. And it's all around us. And all we have to do is open our eyes and look, It's there. It is. It's there.
