Neither Jew Nor Greek: The New Creation God Is Bringing Forth

Welcome to Live Behind the Veil. In this episode, the family explores one of the great mysteries found in Scripture, God's unfolding plan of redemption and the challenge of understanding His purposes through the lens of human reasoning. As we discuss God's covenant promises, the salvation of Israel, and the creation of a new humanity in Christ, the conversation continually returns to a vital truth: God's Word is often greater than our current understanding of it.

Rather than becoming locked into fixed doctrines or independent conclusions, believers are called to remain open to the ongoing revelation of the Holy Spirit. Ron:

We're hitting one of the mysteries. I can quote a scripture right now that the Lord said: "All Israel will be saved." It didn't say part. It didn't say just the ones that are practicing, the ones that reach into the Messiah. It didn't say any of that. It said all Israel, period. And I take it exactly the way it is. All Israel will be saved. That's a covenant. That's a promise from God that they have this. Whether they're standing on it, whether they even want God, has nothing to do with it. It has to do with His Word. He said, "I'm going to do this because of My great name, not because of you." It even talks about Him taking away the filthiness and the sin. He's doing it because of His great name. His name's going to be exalted in Israel. It's a mystery to me, but it really is based on a Word from God. It's based on a covenant that He's made, a promise to them. And we have our covenants through Jesus Christ. We have our covenants. But Israel had their covenants way before we did. They already had salvation. They already had all that. We're the ones that had to be grafted in. We're the ones that Jesus Christ needed to come and save—the Gentiles, the rest of the world. It is a mystery, and it's really hard to talk about because there are so many different concepts. They're not conflicting scriptures. They're only conflicting in our minds. The Holy Spirit wrote it all, so it's not really conflicting; it's just that we don't understand. Because, yeah, I have another scripture: there's only one way to be saved. Jesus Christ is the only way to be saved. And so you go, "There's no other way to the Father." But you can't throw some of the scriptures out because they conflict, in your mind, with the other scriptures. Again, it has to be a revelation and a flow of the Holy Spirit to make us understand these things. Really, if you're open and you don't have your doctrines set in solid stone, and you're going, "Okay, Lord, I don't get this scripture, but here it is. You said it, and I'm not going to spiritualize it. You said it." So whether I get it or not is not the point. The point is You said it. Then You said this other scripture that doesn't make sense to that scripture to me. You said it, so it's all going to come to fruit. And probably it's because God's going to save everybody, every single flippin' person, and so they're all included whether we like it or not. There's something that the Lord's working on. It goes back to this whole scripture about a new creature. No Jew, no Greek. There's a new creature that God's bringing forth that's going to be so well-rounded and balanced that the spirit is on top, and the soul and the body all flow together. There's not part of it that's cut off. You can become too spiritually minded, and you're no physical good, and your body's falling apart. All of that, I think, is where we're headed. That's why the Lord keeps telling us to be open. Forget the things that are past. Even spiritual things. He's just like, "Be open, be open, be open, be open." Because there's new things coming that are going to maybe test both sides to see how open we really are.

Ken:

I think the things that we used to realize or understand on a spirit level have so changed in these latter days. We're not the same people we were even a year ago, or maybe six months ago. Things have changed. When you get right down to it, we think we've got the whole thing wired, and we have no clue. Because when Christ is revealed, and when things come to a climax, we're going to find out exactly what God meant and how it's going to work. And I think we're going to be really surprised. God sent Christ, His Son, to die for every individual ever in the world—in the past and in the future. He died for all of them. Can you say that one's more important than the other? I don't think we can. So we have to wait and let God reveal a lot of this to us. That's why it's so important not to snap judge about anything. Because the minute you do, based on your thinking, you're in trouble. I know that there was a time when Elijah, when he was so wiped out, said, "I'm the only one left." And God said, "No, I've got seven thousand over here that haven't bowed a knee." I think we have a very good perception, in the spirit, of where we're at, but I don't think we see all of it. And that's why we keep our spirits open, and we don't lock ourselves into anything. "Lord, we're open to have You reveal to us exactly what You're speaking. Even if You say something that looks concrete, and there's something more to it, we open our hearts to it."

Debbie:

Even if it looks contrary to what we think—Or what we have known in the past.

Ken:

The greatest enemy of the church is the independent spirit that thinks he's got everything wired and knows exactly what's going to happen based on his perception and idea of how it will work. That's the greatest danger. We have to stay open to what the Lord's speaking on a continual basis.

Dale:

That's why we put priority in our lives on how we relate to the Father, how we relate to His Word. We hold it as the very guidepost, the very thing that leads us. The human mind is not capable of being led by the Spirit yet. You can always trade it in for the mind of Christ. When we follow in His footsteps, take up our cross, and follow Him, Christ accomplished what He was sent for, and that was to bring a people—neither Jew nor Greek, bond nor free—to create that people. There is a thing in the scriptures that talks about why God sent Jesus Christ, Yahshua Messiah. Why did He send His Son? What God created His Son to do for us was be a channel of grace. The opportunity for grace is there through repentance, that we might be raised with Him, that the right hand of the Father can raise us up, and we can be in the Body of Christ that is creating and saving all creation. If you don't think that takes a real change of nature and everything else, it does. You're getting a nature change. We're being created in His image. We all have a different image of Him, and we have that image that is unfolding each day. We get up in the morning and say, "Lord, show me. Show me what You want today. I'm Yours."
