Resting in What God Has Already Done

Ron:

Welcome to Live Behind the Veil. Today, we are talking about resting in what God has already done. So much of our walk with the Lord can become focused on striving, asking, or trying to become something in ourselves. But through Christ, God has already given us everything we need. In this conversation, we look at the finished work of God, the reality of being justified and glorified, and the importance of rejecting the lies that come against our minds.

The Father has already prepared the works, already blessed us with every spiritual blessing, and already made us His sons through Christ. Our part now is to believe His Word, yield our will, and stand in His presence, and allow what He has already done to unfold in our lives today

Ken:

It's not that we're praying for things any longer. We're believing we have those things and speaking them into existence

All the things that we're asking God for, we're asking amiss because they've already been given to us

Ron:

Being thankful and just realizing that God's already given us all things, and that's not just some little plaque on the wall

Begin to bask in the glory that He's already given us.

That's an amazing thing, that we've been glorified and justified. That's part of Romans 8.

Justified is a big word, and glorified. So when all these things try to come in to condemn us or accuse us, they should just fall off like water on a duck's back

Ken:

We take so much stuff to ourselves, thinking, for example, "I haven't done enough.

I haven't prayed enough. I haven't talked to people enough."

Ron:

He loves us so much, Ken. We have to just somehow soak in His love

Just soak it in, soak it in, soak it in. It has to penetrate. It's not good enough for me. I don't think it's good enough just... I know that's first, to penetrate into our spirits, but I think our spirits just accept what God's Word says.

They don't question it or anything. They just accept it. But our souls, on the other hand, and our minds, they question everything,

Ken:

Yes, they do. You have everything you need. You don't need to ask God for that. You have that already Because the lie comes in that we don't have certain things

It's just a bunch of lies.

And so we reject the lies and accept the truth

Ron:

And I know that it's not a passive thing, but I'm believing that because we've been given these things, we've already been justified, and we've already been glorified, and we're standing in His presence, that these things must unfold. It's like a child growing up.

He's gonna grow up. You're not gonna stop him from growing up. He's gonna grow up, and if he has a good father and a good mother, he's going to grow up and unfold. The things in him are going to unfold that God's already put in him, and that his parents, his parents are what? Stewards. So they're going to help the things that God's already imparted to him and who he really is in God.

And that's the same for us

David:

When he says that we are the temple of the Holy Spirit, do we accept it? No, I'm still a rotten old human. No, you're not. We're a forgiven rotten old human, and he's changing us. In his thinking, he's already brought us into it. In our thinking, we're still waiting for it to happen.

At this point, we have to accept what he has already done with us and how he plans to use us to further his kingdom. We're made in his image

Ken:

We know that we've been created for this day. We have been programmed and pre-planned to be here in this day, and to speak- Yes ... the word of God to each other, and to build up this wonderful family that God's created His kingdom in.

It's already happened, and so much of what we're battling right now is what we started off talking about with Ron, about the battle that goes on in our minds, in our soul flesh. That's not who we are. We are- ... spiritual beings created for this day. You don't have to work your way into stuff any longer.

What you have to do is allow His Spirit to transmit or impart and just to stand in His presence and allow Him to complete the work.

That's what He's doing. The one thing we do is we keep moving in to know the Lord in a greater way. We were created to be here.

Lois:

There's the scripture that we all love to quote so much out of Ephesians, "We are His workmanship-"

"created in Christ Jesus for good work," that we're ordained beforehand that we should walk in them. He knew everything beforehand, even Christ dying on the cross. He accomplished everything beforehand. He made the works that we should walk in them. We have to learn to enter into His, the rest and He wants to be close to us.

He loves you so much and He just wants to be with us, because He really likes us. Yeah. And we need just to know Him more and more. But it's all been done. We just need to appropriate what's already done.

Mike:

The true battle is over our will. Are we gonna subject ourselves to His will, or are we gonna keep doing our will?

That's where the battle's at. It's the battle of wills. Has nothing to do with the outside things. It has nothing to do with Satan. He's a defeated foe. Has nothing to do with anything other than do we submit our will to His will?

Do we submit our thinking to His Word, and do we allow Him to transform us, to write His Word on our minds and on our hearts?

If we do- Then we're the benefactors of all the blessings He promised us in Ephesians 1, when I have blessed you with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places. And then He says, "You're gonna stand before me holy and blameless." That's only through the blood of Christ. And then He says, "And I predestined you to adoption as sons- Yes

through Jesus Christ unto myself" It's just that simple.

Do we believe it or not? Are we gonna yield our wills to Him or not?

Ron:

The thing of belief to me, not something mental. It's something you walk out. I set my will to walk out the Word of God, and I put my focus not on what I go through and what I feel.

Do I put my emphasis on that, or do I put my emphasis on the Word of God and walking out what God said? Belief is not something I go, "Oh, I believe it." No, prove to me you believe it. Walk it out.

Dale:

He sees me different than I see myself.

Ken:

That's so true, Dale.

Dale:

And when He shows me who I am, I'm just broken before Him.

He shows you who you are, and then He'll show you who one another is.

Monnie:

I am who I am by being identical with Christ. Who are my brothers and sisters? They are who they are because they are identical with Christ.

Ron:

Thank you for listening to Live Behind the Veil. Today's conversation reminds us that our walk with God is not based on striving to earn what He has already given. Through Christ, the work has been done. We have been blessed, chosen, justified, and called to walk in what the Father prepared beforehand.

The battle is often in our minds and in our will. Will we believe the lies, or will we accept the truth of what God has spoken? Will we keep trying to become something, or will we rest in who He says we already are in Christ? May we learn to stand in His presence, submit our thinking to His Word, and walk out the truth of what He has already accomplished in us.
