The Outpouring of the Holy Spirit Through a People Made One

Ron:

Hello everyone, I'm Ron, your host, and welcome to the podcast. Today, the family talks about how the outpouring of the Holy Spirit did not end on the day of Pentecost. God is still moving through His people, preparing a many-membered body through which Christ can be revealed. In this conversation, the family shares how spiritual oneness, humility, and yielded hearts create an atmosphere for a greater expression of the Holy Spirit.

We may not know exactly how this outpouring will unfold, but we can recognize that it has already begun.

Dale:

We're in the season of Pentecost. The promise at Passover from Christ was that, "I go to the Father that I might send to you a helper." And that helper was the Holy Spirit. And as we see the promise of the Holy Spirit and the fulfillment of that on the day of Pentecost, the thousands that were filled with the Holy Spirit and the promise of the upper room, we also see that there's also a promise of a second coming of the Holy Spirit.

And we find that the second coming of the Holy Spirit is for us today. We see it spoken of throughout the scriptures. So much has been promised for us for a second coming of the Holy Spirit

Ron:

Why did the Holy Spirit come the first time? Jesus said, "It is to your advantage I go away, for if I do not go away, the Holy Spirit will not come."

The second coming of the Holy Spirit, that it is being poured out on the many-membered body and the diversification of that many-membered body, it's not localized anymore in one person. When Christ was here it was localized, now it's not. He's coming forth in a many-membered body. It's really interesting 'cause we're talking about the second coming of the Holy Spirit.

Our understanding is that when it comes or as it flows out, it will be an unlimited measure. If you remember when Christ was baptized in the Holy Spirit, it was an unlimited measure. There was no limit to it, and that's, I believe, is why He was able to move in such power and authority. Was because of the u- of the unlimited flow of the Holy Spirit, which we have not seen, as far as I can see, we have not seen that, that type of release of the Holy Spirit on mankind since Christ was on the earth.

Ken:

I really believe you're hitting on something that's of great importance to what we've been coming into. There was a time when, the disciples were with Jesus and He taught them, and then on the day of Pentecost they obeyed the word that He gave them. They went to the upper room. They waited.

They didn't know what they were waiting for. I'm sure there was a great deal of anticipation and really wanting to be endued with the power that Jesus talked to them about, but they didn't know how it was gonna work. And then the Holy Spirit was poured out, and they began to speak with other tongues, and the fire sat on their heads, and there was a demonstration of God in the fire and the power of the Spirit.

And afterwards, when Peter stood up and spoke, the anointing that he spoke with was so much greater than the man Peter before And I think we get that right there and say, "This experience is more than any kind of religious setting. This is an anointing right from the Father to endue us with power to be His witnesses."

This is not just based on an old time understanding of how it happened. This is for the church today. It's for His people today. I believe truly that we're talking about the greater works, because if the Spirit of God came in to a group of people, to 120 people, and afterwards they began to minister, the, the Spirit was poured out upon them and using them, what happened later was, as Christ prayed for, He prayed that the Father, to the Father, that they would all be one.

Because when we come into that level of oneness, like in the body of Christ, where the body is coming together and are being moved upon by the Holy Spirit, the anointing is so much greater because of the oneness. And so this is a part of the outpouring or the second outpouring of the Holy Spirit, because it came, yes, on the day of Pentecost, but that doesn't mean it ever stopped.

And I believe today that we're seeing the evidence of again, the outpouring of the Spirit of God in this day.

Mike:

I believe it's all part of the fulfilling of that verse in Ephesians 2:10. We are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which the Father has foreordained for us to walk in.

And I believe those works are the greater works that the Father will do in and through us as the created vessels that He's made. And we yield ourselves, we humble ourselves to be those channels, because we are, in essence, working with the Father to see those greater works manifested through us, and His will be done in the earth.

Dale:

I'm glad to hear what you're saying, Ken, because that first outpouring of the Holy Spirit, as you said, fantastic one-time beginning, very important. This second coming of the Holy Spirit is poured out upon us. It opens the door to the kingdom age. It opens the door to His kingdom that we might enter in by the knowledge that is imparted with us at this time.

Questions that we have from the first one are answered in the second outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

Ron:

Also, another thing about the second coming of the Holy Spirit is there is a preparation of heart. That's why there needs to be an expectancy upon the believer and a knowledge that there is this event, if you want to call it that, an experience of the second coming of the Holy Spirit.

How that's going to all unfold, I don't think anyone knows. Whether it's going to be just a universal event at one time or it's going to be progression, we don't really understand or know that. We do know that our hearts need to be tender and open and expecting this event.

Ken:

I must have a little different concept, Ron, because I know that the Lord has already begun the work of the Holy Spirit in us.

It's not going to start on a huge level. It's going to start with a remnant. It's going to start with believers that are truly one. And as the believers come together in oneness and begin to move into the flow of the Holy Spirit, there's going to be something that happens I don't think we've seen yet.

And I think we're already seeing the beginnings of that. And I truly believe that we are in the days of the outpouring of the Holy Spirit that Joel talked about. He said in the latter days, God would pour out his spirit upon all flesh. It's happening. I would press on to say that we need to all of us open up our eyes, our spiritual eyes, and look and see what is right in front of us.

But there's more coming, and I think we're already in it.

Ron:

The Holy Spirit is already working within God's people, bringing them into a oneness and preparing them for the greater works Christ promised. Our responsibility is to remain humble, open, and spiritually awake. As we yield ourselves to the Lord and learn to move together in His Spirit, Christ can be revealed through His many-membered body.

There is more coming, but we already are beginning to walk in it.
