Summary
This conversation centers on the Father’s love as the foundation of true oneness. The speakers emphasize that believers cannot minister love, understand Scripture rightly, walk in Christ’s lordship, or love one another sacrificially unless they first have a living experience of the Father’s love. This love is not merely a feeling or religious idea, but an active relationship with God that matures, changes the heart, constrains the believer, and enables the Body of Christ to walk in true oneness.
Show Notes
The Father’s Love Must Be Experienced
Ron opens by saying that we cannot give what we do not have. To minister the love of God to others, including Israel, we must first personally experience the Lord’s love.
God’s Love Is the Foundation of Oneness
Ken explains that the Father’s love is the foundation of oneness. It is not something believers can manufacture in themselves. True oneness comes from His love, not human effort.
Love Changes How We See Scripture and Life
Ron points out that without God’s love, we misinterpret Scripture and even life itself. The love of the Father becomes the lens through which His lordship, His Word, and His purpose are rightly understood.
The Early Church Walked in Overwhelming Love
Ken reflects on the early church and how believers continued to follow Christ even under persecution. Their willingness to lay down their lives came from the overwhelming love of God, not from a mental belief alone.
Love Is More Than a Feeling
The speakers clarify that God’s love is not simply an emotional feeling, though it can overflow with emotion and joy. It is an experience with God that becomes a way of life and continues even through trials, testing, and practical daily walking with Him.
The Love of God Constrains Us
Mike brings out the word “constrain,” showing that the love of God draws, compels, drives, and presses believers forward. David connects this to the Holy Spirit driving Jesus into the wilderness after He was filled with the Spirit.
Love Matures Through Relationship
Cindy and Jenifier discuss how our revelation of the Father’s love grows as we mature. God’s love does not change, but the way He relates to us changes as we grow from spiritual children into maturity.
Loving God With All the Heart
Dale connects the conversation to the great commandment: loving the Lord with all the heart, soul, mind, and strength. This love grows beyond human interpretation and brings believers into a true spiritual relationship with the Father.
Receiving Love Before Giving Love
Kilyia closes with the heart of the message: God wants to love us, and He wants to be loved by us. As we allow Him to love us, we are then able to love Him and others with an intensity that meets His heart.

The Father’s Love The Foundation of True Oneness
Ron:
Welcome to Live Behind the Veil. Today, we are talking about the Father's love as the foundation of true oneness. We cannot give what we have not first received, and true love is not something we can manufacture out of ourselves. It must come from a living experience with the Father. In this conversation, we explore how His love changes the way we see scripture, how we walk with Christ, and how we relate to one another.
The Father's love is more than a feeling. It is a way of life that matures us, constrains us, and brings us into a deeper relationship with Him and His body
Ron:
We can't give what we don't have. We have to have an experience of the Lord's love so that we can minister that same love to Israel.
Ken:
This message of love from the Father is the foundation of oneness forever It is His love, not ours. And anytime we try to manufacture or work up love, we miss it.
Ron:
we can't even read the scriptures correctly. We misinterpret the scriptures without His love. In fact, we misinterpret life without His love
Ken:
That's true. He is love.
Dale:
That's why the experience is not a beginning and an end. The experience becomes a way of life.
Ken:
We talk so much about the lordship of Jesus Christ, and it's true, but without God's love, there is no lordship of Jesus Christ
Ron:
You interpret His lordship wrong because you interpret it as you could or you could interpret it as more of a domineering thing, when that's not
Ken:
Not it at all. The early church, this love is so much a part of their experience. You can't read that without understanding that. The love is what drew them together, and they were being killed, right and left, and the fact is they kept coming regardless of what anybody else did.
How in the world could you submit your life to Christ knowing that you could be killed at any time? How could you do it? I don't think you could do it unless you have the overwhelming love of God. Just knowing if He delivered you, fine, but if you were taken, you would go to be with Him.
Ron:
What you're talking about is not a mental concept
Ken:
No, it's not
Ron:
For you to do the things that they did, you have to be at that time and moment in the presence of the Lord, feeling His love and His joy.
You can't do the things that they did on a human level
Ken:
I believe that we have come into the day when we can walk in the fullness of His love. Love is not a feeling and that's where a lot of people are mistaken. Love is an experience with God. If you're looking for feely sweet Jesus concept of God, and the only time that you're in the presence of God when you're feeling good, you missed it all together
Ron:
The experience of His love, you are in tremendous emotion.
It's an overwhelming, overflowing emotion of love and joy. What you're saying is true. On a human level it's not that Oh, I love Jesus. It talks about how the love of the Lord controls you. That's an understatement. It is so... I remember having an experience like this. It was so tremendous that you lose all your inhibitions.
You don't have any restraints or inhibitions. You are so filled with His joy and the presence of the Lord in you that-
Jenifier:
You take your clothes off like David did?
Ron:
You honestly would. You could, yeah. Honestly, you would- Exactly ... you lose your, all your inhibitions. There's- all of your inhibitions, right
It's all gone. That's why they could do what they could do.
Ken:
Let me share with you what happened to me when I was baptized in the Holy Spirit. When I got saved and we started going to the Assemblies of God Church, I was baptized in the Holy Spirit, and I literally lived in the realm of spirit, experiencing His love.
I don't know how long it lasted, maybe a month, and I thought, "Wow, this is incredible," and then, of course, the Lord kinda let me into the practical aspect of walking with God, where you experience devastation, you go through things. He teaches you to trust Him and have faith in what He says.
Bill:
The love of God is a usable component. I have ministered to people and blessed them with the love of God for healing. It's not just an atmosphere that you feel good in. We can minister to one another. We're learning to take on the mind of Christ, and our mindsets are changing. We're able to appropriate for ourselves and minister to one another.
Mike:
Here's a word for you: constrain. The love of God constrains us. So I looked up that word, and there's some words in here that kinda shock me. Constrain, draws, compel or force, coerce, drive, impel, prevail on, require, press, push, pressure. If you want a picture of what your father's all about, if you're gonna be strong enough to take over the farm, you better understand something.
The old man's still in charge until you can rise up to that level. I look at that and I thought to myself, "Wow, I don't think I fully understand my father to the degree he wants me to understand him."
David:
Mike those words that you just mentioned, they sound like what the Holy Spirit did to Jesus after Jesus was filled with the Spirit: drove Him, impelled Him, coerced Him out into the wilderness.
Cindy:
As we grow and meet Him and have a, His, a growing relationship with Him day by day, that is going to be more a revelation as we go. Because it changes. The relationship you have with Him moment by moment changes. You mature, you get to know Him deeper, and so then the love that He has for me, for you, for anyone, is going to change because your revelation of His relationship with you, and of Him, and His Spirit is changing to the better.
Revelation is a really key word here. To know His love for me. You just know His love for you, and that's how we have a relationship with Him.
Jenifer:
The love He has for us never changes, of course. But as we go, mature, He relates to us differently. When we're children, we treat our children with a different love.
When they start to be teenagers, "Mom, will you do this?" No. You need to do this. I'll watch you do it, but I'm not gonna do it anymore." And I think that's what God's been doing in our lives, is, "Okay, you related to me so long in that realm, I'm bringing you different. I'm bringing you, you wanna say higher, new place? I'm taking you."
Bill:
That same thing is happening between us and the Father, our spiritual Father. We just need to once in a while recognize- Yeah ... that it's happening. And you know what? There's things by being aware that you can facilitate, you can speed it up, enhance the growth process. It's there. We are being changed, absolutely, by our relationship with the Father.
Jenifer:
What is Christ's one desire? That we know Him. And then, "Do you know my Father?"
Dale:
God's love is very simple, and we'll see a relationship that goes to the great commandment. The great commandment says very simply, "You shall love the Lord with all." That's where it becomes truly a spiritual thing, experiencing God's level on a true spiritual level.
The simplicity of the great commandment. It's no longer your interpretation of love. Day by day, it grows beyond what we can comprehend, and leads us into that with all my heart.
Ken:
That's really the truth too, and Jesus opened the door to the Father's heart, didn't he? That's what he did when he died on that cross.
He enabled us to have a relationship with the Father, and we have walked in that relationship all these years, but there is definitely something more, and it is centered in the Father. Wonder why we have the first two commandments, "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, with all thy strength, with all thy mind," and your neighbor as yourself, those first two commandments.
How can we really love our neighbor unless we really have the love of God? The love that God's talking about, loving your neighbor to lay your lay- lay your life down for your neighbor, are you ready for that? No greater love has man than he lays down his life for his friend. We're gonna continue to reach for it, endeavoring to hear and to walk in that level that He's speaking for us to walk in.
Kyla:
God wants to love us, and He wants to be loved by us. He wants nothing more than to be in a relationship with little old me and little old you. That's His joy and His delight, and He wants us to come to Him in great honesty, with a drive. Let me just come as a little lamb and love you with all my heart, Father.
Likewise, let you love me. It starts that I let Him love me, and then I can love the people around me, but I can also love my Father with an intensity that meets His heart
Ron:
Thank you for joining us today on Live Behind the Veil. The Father's love is not simply a doctrine to understand, but an experience to live in every day. As we allow Him to love us, His love begins to change us from the inside out and enables us to love Him and one another with His heart. May we continue to open ourselves to the Father, allowing His love to become the foundation of our relationship with Him and the oneness He is bringing forth in His people
