What is an unfolding relationship with the Lord based upon? What is a walk with God based upon? Both are based upon the truth that Jesus Christ reveals to Peter and the disciples in Matthew 16:13-18 with verse 17 being the key! Jesus said,

“Blessed are you Simon Barjona (Peter), because flesh and blood (man) did not reveal this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.” Reveal what? The revelation that Peter spoke was, “You are the Christ (the anointed One), the Son of the living God.”

What Jesus did by revealing to Peter the truth about where the revelation came from, is the very foundation the Ekklesia, the “called out ones,” you and I as believers in His Word, build our relationship with Christ, the Father and the Holy Spirit! Not man’s wisdom, not man’s knowledge, nor the hierarchy of men! Revelation comes from the Father with confirmation, out of the mouths of two or three witnesses, usually our brother’s in Christ!

Believers who have a mental acceptance of our Lord must step out of those reasoning processes of the mind, into the revelations that come down from the Father! These revelations are spirit and life to our spirits! We must take up our cross daily and see our soul crucified to the influence of our mind, so that our mind becomes transformed into thinking as God thinks! This is the only way to have an unfolding relationship with our Lord Jesus and the Father which lasts forever!
