A Lifestyle of Being Taught By The Father

The more we learn to live in the realm of our spirits, and not our soul lives, the less effort on a soulish level has to be put into this. We learn to live in another realm; a lot of the things that we felt driven to do in the past become unnecessary. Because we're in communion with the Lord that, when He's moving in our spirits, we sense it -and we know it. That we're learning to leave behind a whole realm of relating to God as far as the soulish needs that we feel compelled to do, because we're moving into another realm where we don't have to do those things to hear from God.

So God's creating this ability that you're talking about, He's creating within our spirits, this ability to be in tune with Him 24/7.

I think there's a scripture that helps clarify what we're talking about - and that's Second Timothy 4:2 he says, “preach, proclaim, prophesy” - many different translations on that - the word, “be ready in season and out of season, ready in season and out of season, reprove, rebuke, exhort with all patience, and instruction.” And I think what - what we drag along with us sometimes is an old order way of doing things. Well, I've got to go wait on God, I'm going to do such and such. There's a lifestyle. I'm opening my heart to do what God is about to speak - that we're ready, that there is a focus that gives us that reprove, rebuke, exhort with all patience and instruction, that no matter what God is leading us to do, we're ready. And it becomes a way of life. It's not something we switch on and off. It's something that is automatic throughout our day we connect with Him. We're aware of that connection.

I feel like what you're saying about being instant in season and out of season is a reality to a person who lives in the Spirit and is constantly in touch with the Lord. I find that everything that God's ever deposited in me and in Lois, is there ready to be revealed at the right time. And oftentimes in the morning, when we sit and talk, we talk about the things that are on our hearts. We'll bring up something, and the Lord will just explode it in our hearing ; and we'll just share that with each other. That's what I would say what you're talking about Dale, is we are engaged because it is a lifestyle in the Spirit. And we are walking in this relationship with the Father, and He continually talks. And so, when we hear what He's saying, something penetrates our hearing ability in the Spirit. And we began to share that; then that becomes something that becomes a thing of a focus, and we'll dwell on it and talk about it and share it with each other. And I think we're gonna see more and more of that. It's just a part of my being.

Jesus made a statement once. He says, “Everyone who has been taught of my Father comes to Me.” And I used to wonder about that scripture. Because I can remember first coming to the Lord, I wasn't taught by the Father. What the heck does that even mean? But this something of Spirit, where He teaches us in our spirit and we learn. They told Jesus, “How can this man be doing all this stuff have never been learned? They call the disciples unlearned and ignorant men, but there was something living in them, in their spirits, that they could draw from. And I think that, yeah, a lot of times, the last thing that catches up with us is our conscious understanding of things. There's still a gap there between our spirit and our consciousness. But I think God's even removing that gap, so that we can walk in a perpetual awareness of the presence of the Lord. I can't say I'm there 24/7 in my consciousness. But I know my spirit is, and He teaches us, He imparts to our spirits. And it does come through and all of a sudden, you know things you've been taught. I learned this, I Learned to sit at my feet of my Father. And that's what Jesus was essentially saying in those words that He spoke. “Everything I hear from My Father I speak.” It was in His spirit that He was hearing the Lord. And I think it's the same way with us. It's Christ in us, the word. He gets manifested in our spirits - and then we know a lot of stuff, because we see it through the revelation of Him in us.

Christ dedicated Himself to that relationship - to hear, to see what the Father was doing. We read that He spent nights, whole nights in prayer. So there's this dedication to this relationship to develop, to tune in, and just doesn't happen automatically.

An example of what you're saying, Roger, is the craftsmen that built the tabernacle. These guys didn't read any of the stuff in a book. You know, all the gifts that the Lord gave them, to be able to do all this beautiful work, and building the tabernacle and everything they did. God taught them that stuff. Maybe they learned some of it from their fathers, but then their fathers, you follow what I'm saying? This wisdom, this ability, this craftsmanship, and all this stuff was God speaking. God imparting this wisdom and this ability. You know, we talk about it in kind of a, well ,speaking the Word. But that's so small a part of God. Think of the things: science, engineering, farming, it comes from Him. The pure stuff comes from Him. The right stuff comes from Him. And a lot of them are being taught. And if you ask them, they don't, they wouldn't even consider themselves a Christian. But God's teaching them for His Kingdom. He's creating them right now for His kingdom.

I love what you're saying, Ron, because you take those scriptures and stories that your talking about. It's where God used the Holy Spirit, and taught these guys, the guys the goldsmiths and stuff. Throughout the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit was evident doing different things. What excites me when I hear you talking about that, is, that the day of Pentecost coming up, the feast, that's coming up, We're being prepared in the upper room to be thrust onto a whole new level.

I tell you, this has been in operation for a long time, but I think now we're becoming more aware of the gift that we have within us. And you're right, Roger, it will grow. It will become more. We are not in this for the short term. This is the lifestyle of Spirit we're talking about.
