Entering God’s Kingdom Rest

Ron:

Welcome to Live Behind the Veil. Today, we are talking about entering the kingdom rest that God has already provided through Christ. The Sabbath is more than a particular day, it is a state of heart and a living relationship with the Lord. So often we find ourselves striving to earn what God has already freely given, His love, His peace, His presence, and His acceptance.

In this conversation, the family shares how Christ Himself is our rest. We look at what it means to stop being controlled by fear and circumstances, trust in God's sovereignty, and choose daily to turn our hearts toward His presence.

Ken:

There is a kingdom rest that God promised for us to walk in. He is our kingdom, and it's in a relationship. You must have an experience of the Sabbath. It must be more than Saturday to you. The Sabbath should be a revelation from the Lord of how He has completed all that is necessary for your salvation, and you should labor to enter into His rest.

Give full diligence to come into His rest. The Sabbath rest is a state of heart. It's an experience. We have this salvation. It's wonderful. Christ died for our sins, and we've received that, and we love the salvation, a- and that is an experience. The Sabbath rest is a completion of the work of God in us.

This is God's work. It's God's work in us, completing something that He started. So the kingdom rest is so far more, I think, than we really have understood. "Remember, we're His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works."

Lois:

It's not a day. He's the Sabbath rest.

Ken:

I think in John 15, it talked about that, that the Father, Son, and Spirit would come and take up their abode in us.

Lois:

Enter into His rest. For the works that were before the foundation of the world, they were ready for you to walk in. You rest in Him. Of course, you feed on the Lord, but you don't strive.

Ken:

The provisions in Christ and what God has done through Christ on the cross for us. I'm saved—wonderful. I'm going to heaven—awesome.

What about the fullness of that provision? Are we aware of the fullness? Do we get the whole concept of why Christ died for us? Is it just to relieve us from our sins, or is there a higher realm that we're to reach into in this relationship, where we know in our hearts, without even a question, that He is in us, a part of us, and we are in that Sabbath rest?

It's a place where we g- we go, and there's no question about whether we have the right to be there, or we're good enough, or we haven't done enough works. It's none of that. He's already done the work, and He wants us to receive it. It's a gift. Let God be everything in us. That's all He ever wanted.

He wanted us to give it—give Him our will—to become who He is. He wants us to be His kids. He wants us to walk as He walks, to think as He thinks, to do as He does. So many people get caught up in the works, trying to please God. That's not what God wants. He wants us to love Him. That's what pleases Him.

That's where we come into this relationship with God that is just so incredible, because then we come to know that we don't have to work the way we've worked to get to this place w- that we're at. We simply rest.

Debbie:

I'm coming into an awareness and a revelation of rest in a new way. Rest in the presence of the Lord is not necessarily passive.

Our rest is a rest of our minds, and our hearts, and our being in Him. There's an activity to our rest. There is worship in our rest.

Lois:

There is no fear when we come into this rest. Christ is our rest, and there's no more fear of the things going on around us—the tribulations, what's coming on the earth. We rest in what He- created and started from the beginning.

Ken:

It's a state of heart. The kingdom is a state of heart. And so, when you reach into that, out of your heart, and connect with that, and you pray from that level, you're just saying, "Dad, I have a request, and I know You always hear me." Isn't that what Jesus said? He said, "Father, I know You always hear me."

And we can say in our hearts, "Father, we know You always hear us." Do you question that God loves you and cares for you and work- works out the details of your life? Absolutely not. And the awareness of that should minister to your spirits on such a new level in this day that we're living in. It's a day of completion.

Mike:

This is the day that everything is reversed from what we've been used to. It truly is a day of spirit. It's the day of fulfillment. And, like a magnet, we have been drawn into this oneness.

Ron:

God's already given us provisions on every level. All these places we're talking about, the rest and the love and the joy and the peace, they already exist.

So there's nothing we have to create. It's like a TV set with a remote. Number one, if you want to see something, you want to experience, you got to turn the TV on. Go worship the Lord, go wait on the Lord, be in His Word, turn the TV on, and then turn to the channel you want. So, if you want peace, tune into His peace.

All these realms of life, health, life, peace—all these things that our inner being dreams for—already exist. It's not something we have to reach into. It's something already is there. Get out of the thoughts that are going through my brain and the circumstances that surround me that's screaming for my attention.

And I tune in. I turn the TV on, and I tune in. And what that's doing is, it's tuning my whole life, my whole spirit, into His presence. He says it's going to be so simple, a fool not err therein. You can't make a mistake because it's right in front of you. All you have to do is just turn the TV on.

Just turn on the remote and turn to the channel that you want. We have to choose daily what we tune into.

And it's really, really important what we tune into. And our atmosphere is very, very important. It's what ministers out from us. It's the way we live in the presence of the Lord. Just living in His presence ministers to everything around us.

Mike:

The influence of His presence is coming through as we lay our spirits at His feet.

Kay:

We must accept, receive, trust, and just enter His sovereignty over everything. That's what we do to get into the rest. We show up, and He does everything.

Trisha:

Wholeheartedly,We are so blessed. We can wholeheartedly say, "I'm so happy I can do nothing apart from the Son."

Beryl:

Because I trust Him, I know that I have a relationship with Him and that He has a relationship with me, regardless of whether I feel I'm worthy or doing what I'm supposed to be doing or whatever. That relationship is there. What we go through just strengthens that. Basically, it just always comes back to just believing in Him and believing in His plan and knowing that nothing just happens, that He's in charge.

I guess that's what you call rest.

Ron:

As we close today, let us remember that God's rest is not something we have to create. It has already been provided for us in Christ. Our part is to trust Him, receive what He has given, and turn our hearts away from fear, striving, and distracting circumstances. As we choose daily to live in His presence, His peace, love, and life begin to flow through us and touch everything around us.
