Growing Into Oneness Through Christ

Ron:

Welcome to Live Behind the Veil. In this episode, we explore the deeper reality of oneness in Christ and what it means to live from the spirit rather than from the soul. As believers, we are called into more than agreement or shared purpose. We are called into the very life of Christ Himself. As Christ is unveiled within us, we find ourselves becoming more one with Him and naturally walking in love, unity, and fellowship with one another. Ken:

Just believing God regardless of the feelings or what you're going through, always just trusting Him. It's not always easy, to remind yourself to do that. You lean on your own understanding about what you're going through instead of just trusting. It's a slippery slope because the minute you get involved in that, the enemy will write in and say, "Yeah, that's right."

There needs to be this whole thing of just remembering that we're each other's covering and that God is absolutely moving through His family. Trusting is a huge, huge thing. Yeah. Oneness is spirit, but unity is soul And when you think about that you can be unified to a degree and be dedicated to, to do a certain thing, even walk with God together.

But then you'll have a lot of discussions and things that you don't actually agree with. But in oneness, you're connected to the Lord and His oneness, and that's a totally different thing. Oneness actually is forever. That is what, where we're going to live. That's our destination. Our connecting in the spirit level is where we really, really find the peace of God, the endurance of God, and the drive that He puts within us to become.

You realize that without that childlike spirit, you don't go very far in this relationship with God, because you must come to Him as a little child. There must be this thing in our spirit that's, that absolutely says, "Lord, you're everything. I'm just one of, one of the people that have connected to you, and I trust what you're doing in my life."

A child will do that in his relationship to his father if he has a father that he can trust. But the point is that if we're walking with God, we have to trust Him. He is our spiritual dad. He is everything to us.

Roger:

The more we are wrapped up and caught up in Jesus Christ, the greater capacity we have to be one with our brothers and sisters, regardless of where they might be in their walk with God.

If we're not that much caught up in the Lord, the propensity is always there to criticize or to measure in some way. He's here, I'm here, blah, blah, blah. All that comes out of a basic, really, immaturity because we haven't penetrated deep enough into the Lord Jesus Christ. He, by the very definition, is oneness.

He is oneness personified. People think you're crazy. How can you love someone so intensely that you've never seen? God creates it in our hearts. He reveals himself, and it becomes easy in our spirits to love him, although it's difficult in our nature, flesh nature, which is always being crucified, by the way, because the more we love, the more we die, or the more you die, the more you love, either way.

But I think this business of our hunger to know him And being caught up in the Lord Jesus. How could Paul say, "I become all things to all men?" How could he make such a statement? Before he knew the Lord, he was filled with hatred. All he thought about was killing and throwing Christians in prison, man. He was hardly the poster boy for love, and yet God did something in his heart, and it was directly linked to his pursuit of the Lord Jesus. You cannot touch the Lord without loving your brother or sister.

Ken:

That's so true.

Roger:

We're gonna walk in oneness because we share in a common revelation of Jesus Christ. I was, got up last night, I felt to read Peter, 2 Peter, and it begins with, he said, "I'm writing to you guys who have the same type of faith as we do."

He said, "The same type of faith as ours." Meaning, there's a specific faith, and he was writing to those who are sharing in a common faith, a common revelation, and there's our oneness

Ken:

I think that's such a perfect description of the family, because we are spirit more than we are human beings. We're spirit, soul, and body, but I think the emphasis on the spirit is the purity that God's looking for in all of our lives.

Everything must start in the spirit. We've been born again, and this born-again experience is an experience of spirit. Our spirits come alive. In Adam, in the beginning, when he failed God and sinned, they died and were cast out of the garden. We have been born again, and our spirits have been made perfect.

Now, I know a lot of people go, "Whoa, what do you mean by perfect?" Perfect is just being in God. That's it. That's where our righteousness is. That's where our life is. That's where we stand free. The minute we get into evaluations about anything other than spirit, we're opening up to a whole nother realm, and it's a realm of soul.

Bill:

That oneness is not a, an end in itself. It's a facilitator, and it's an atmosphere where good things can happen. Examples in the natural, if I'm trying to get from here to Los Angeles, and it's about a three-and-a-half-hour drive, and so I get in a newer car with a bigger engine, and looking at the maps and trying to figure out is there a route to get around the traffic, all this.

Why go to the airport and get on a plane and be there in an hour? We spend too much time trying to improve where we are. Don't get distracted, as it were, and keep trying to upgrade the old. Take out the A-frame camp and drive a new car and do- The radiator cap is everything we've ever learned from the scriptures or our individual walk with God or us collectively.

Take that perfect thing that we have and drive the next thing that God's doing under it and you're ready to go for the future

Ron:

We were talking about oneness, but I think that actually comes natural in Christ. As you grow in the Lord, as you dive into Him more and more, the oneness automatically happens because He is one, and the impartation happens to you, and you become one with the Lord.

And then we're one with one another. I also love the actual nuts and bolts of that, where individually you're reading scripture, and as you read it, it's like Christ said, "I found myself in the scriptures." You find yourself in the scriptures. You see what the Lord says about you. He calls you a son. Or he says something like, "God loves you just as much as he loves his firstborn son, Jesus Christ.

He loves you just as much." Now, you can read that and go, "Oh, yeah. Yeah." Let that sink in for about two weeks. Wrestle with that, 'cause that's saying the Father loves you just as much as he loves Jesus Christ, no difference whatsoever. Those type of statements in the scriptures, when they become a revelation to you and an experience to you, you become one because you're one with the Word.

You become the Word. That's becoming the Word, not a mental ascent to it anymore. Now you've become it. We're talking about the general or overarching thing of oneness, which is true, and it's really important, 'cause that's the core of... core of God is his oneness. But how do we get there from here? The nuts and bolts, the everyday nuts and bolts of that is search the scriptures and find yourself.

Wait on God and let Him speak to you Or He speaks to you through your brothers and sisters. But do I really let it sink in? So if I become that word, if I let it soak in, what happens? That's a little bit more oneness. I'm more one with the Lord because I'm more one with His word. The way to walk it out.

We are to be one, and out of our oneness, it automatically happens. We begin to minister to the world. We begin to draw all men unto ourselves or unto Christ, however you wanna say that. How does that happen, really? We've tried the aspect of I'll just go out and I'll knock on doors and hand out tracts," and that really didn't work too well.

But when we become Christ in the earth, then it's an automatic, natural thing that happens. And we go into a grocery store, and we're not looking to evangelize anybody. We're going to buy groceries, and they just get in our flipping way. And they get evangelized just because we start talking to them. And we plant a seed.

God is so amazing because everything that He talks about, first off, it's already exist in Him. We're not trying to reach in. I don't like the word reaching in. It's more like unveiling. It's an unveiling of Christ that's already in us, and it's already in His fullness in us. We're just growing up.

Like a little kid, we're discovering, "Oh, wow, I actually can run fast. Oh, wow, I can actually do this. I can actually do that." You had the capacity, but you never knew you, you had it.
