Oneness Through the Anointing
Ron:
Welcome to Live Behind the Veil. In today's conversation, the family shares how independence works against the oneness God is creating in the body of Christ. True oneness does not come from everyone thinking alike or following human leadership. It comes as each member hears the voice of the Lord, submits to His Spirit, and lives in the awareness of His presence.
As Christ is expressed through every member, the family is joined together and strengthened by the life of the Father within.
Ken:
Independence is the enemy of oneness. One thing we have to watch out for is that we don't enter into any kind of independence. That cannot be, because what we are, we're a family. We are each other's guard of our spirits. Will there be leaders? There'll be leaders to the extent that someone will speak a word from the Lord or redirect something that God is speaking, and it'll come into being.
There will be that hearing the voice of the Lord, hearing what He's speaking. “My sheep hear my voice and they follow me.” That is the key right there in oneness.
It's the voice of the Lord. Where the anointing is and the Word, the Lord is. What is the definition of anointing? Mine is, it's the presence of the Lord.
Mike:
Definitely the presence of the Lord, but—it is—the thing that, when you were talking there, jumped out about no leaders, it's recognizing we're all sons of God. Jesus is the firstborn. The rest of us come in by the adoption process.
David:
“The anointing which ye have received of Him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teaches you of all things and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it has taught you, ye shall abide in Him.”
Ken:
It's something in you, the presence of the Lord living within you because you've been born again. You've been born into this reality of having Him within you, and when He's in you, that is the anointing that you carry with you. I'll tell you, you, you will never understand what the anointing is based on human understanding.
It comes by the presence or the anointing of the Spirit of God. If you're believing to be help, ministry, love, anointing to other—the other members in the Family—that's where the anointing's at. We've been taken out of darkness into His marvelous light. That's where we live. If you're walking outside of that light with some kind of a human understanding, you can miss the anointing.
Again, independent understanding is the thing that comes against the Family. Oneness is a miracle, because oneness is. It's not about human thinking. It's not about your ideas, not about that, and the Spirit is what makes us one. It's not about any common understanding. It's the Spirit of the Lord. You are important because you give your spirit to oneness.
Monnie:
The anointing is giving God His voice, the Holy Spirit within us being the Word, speaking the Word, doing the Word in all that He is.
Ken:
The effect of who you are is ministry. It's not what you say; it's who you are. That's the important issue.
Mike:
By Christ's very prayer to the Father in John 17, we were made one.
What's gonna interfere with that? This thing between our ears tries to, but when we submit to the Lord and His Word and His Spirit and His love, we come into that submissiveness, humbleness of heart that draws into His presence. Without His presence, we can't function in this body. It's the lifeblood that flows through this body that enables it to be who we are.
David:
See, I was thinking of the, jigsaw puzzle. It's not a complete puzzle unless that last piece is in place. Sometimes the enemy gets us to a point where we don't think we're worth anything, we don't belong, but realize that it's Christ in me, the hope of glory. That brings it all back together. We're the temple of the Holy Spirit.
Ron:
Because of the awareness of the Lord, there's a strength inside, and it's not going to be expressed through my soul and what it wants to express or my mind and what it wants to scream and express. I'm going to express the Christ within me, and it's a strength. The joy of the Lord is your strength. It's just a strength.
It's an inner strength because I'm aware of the Father being with me. The presence of the Father is the main thing.
Ken:
I just know He's always with us, always. He never leaves us. Isn't that the promise? I will never leave you or forsake you.
Then what it comes down to is our awareness.
Ron:
As we close, the message is clear. Independence separates, but the Spirit of the Lord makes us one. Every member of the body is important because every member carries the presence of Christ. As we lay down our own understanding, submit our minds and souls to the Lord, and give our spirit to the family, his life can flow through us in true oneness.
