Is God Enough? Seeking First the Kingdom

Jesus said, โ€œSeek first His kingdom and His righteousnessโ€ (Matthew 6:33). But what does that really mean? Seeking the Kingdom is not simply about doing more for God. It begins with recognizing that He is King and allowing His authority, His purposes, and His direction to shape our lives.
We are not responsible for creating the Kingdom through our own strength. Our part is to become yielded to the Lord, listening for His voice and allowing Him to lead us. God is the One doing the creating and transforming, and we are the ones being formed by His hand.

Worship and Surrender
One of the purest ways we seek the Lord is through worship. Worship turns our attention away from ourselves and places it completely upon Him. It is not limited to singing or praise; it is presenting our entire lives to God.
Romans 12:1 speaks of presenting our bodies as a living sacrifice, describing this as our spiritual service of worship. In that sense, worship includes:
Loving the Lord with an open heart.
Obeying Him when He speaks.
Surrendering when we do not understand.
Trusting Him when circumstances become difficult.
When we worship, our hearts become aligned with His. Instead of striving to accomplish something for God, we begin allowing Him to work within us.

Is God Enough When Life Is Difficult?
It is easy to trust God when everything is going well. The deeper question comes when the path becomes difficult, plans change, prayers seem unanswered, or the future becomes uncertain.
Can we still say, โ€œLord, I love You, and I belong to Youโ€?
Some of the greatest worship we can offer happens when everything around us is shaking, yet our hearts remain turned toward the Lord. Our faith is no longer based upon circumstances but upon our relationship with Him.
Revelation 12:11 speaks of those who overcome through the blood of the Lamb, the word of their testimony, and by not loving their lives even unto death. There comes a place in our walk with God where something becomes settled within us: regardless of what happens, we are going to walk with Him.

His Love Is the Foundation
At the heart of all of this is the love of God. His love is unchanging and reaches us regardless of where we have been or what we have faced. Because He loved us, He sent His Son so that we could be restored to fellowship with Him.
As we receive His love, faith, worship, obedience, and surrender begin to grow within us. We discover that seeking first the Kingdom is not about striving to make ourselves acceptable to God. It is about responding to the One who already loves us.
So the question remains: Is God enough?
When circumstances change, when obedience costs something, and when the way forward is unclear, can we still trust Him?
Seeking first the Kingdom means surrendering ourselves to His purposes, presenting our lives to Him as worship, and trusting that what He has begun, He will complete.
