Our Lord Jesus Christ gives us the perfect example of how we should respond to the fact that we are born human. He came down to this realm, and according to Philippians 2:8, “And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death—even death on a cross.” Zechariah 9:9 states, “Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and endowed with salvation, humble.”
1 Peter 2:9 speaks to us today: “You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession.” We are to become priests of a different order! Unlike the Levitical priests who were replaced because of death, we will be an eternal priesthood, just as our Lord is eternal, because He is the resurrection.
What a time to be alive and learning how to be a humble and submissive people, ministering His Word to one another—bringing forth maturity as sons and ultimately as His Body on the earth. We are becoming a people who are rising to new heights of worship and love, while submitting ourselves to His Lordship each and every day. He is our King and High Priest, and He is imparting to us the ability to become those kings and priests who will rule with Him in the days ahead.
