We Must Know The Voice Of The Lord

There are so many issues on the table today. What is the leading of the Lord? The way we should think about different things that are going on. We must know the mind of the Lord. It's not a question of issues or things or thinking about with our own way of thinking. I'm talking about the mind of Christ.

I'm talking about knowing what God is speaking to us now. You must know the Lord. You have to wait before Him, read His word, think His thoughts after Him, chase after Him, love Him, adore Him, plead with Him, give love to Him. Then as you think His thoughts and feel His feelings, you say, Lord, Your attitude is going to be my attitude.

Lord, how do you want me to think about all of these things that are going on? How do you want me to think? I want to think Your thoughts. I want to know Your way of viewing things, Your way of looking at it, because I want that kind of intimate relationship with You where I know what Your will is.

You're probably saying, oh, how can we ever get there? I think we can. I think it's important that we do, because we're living in a day of so many conflicting issues. My goodness, you can hear one person say one thing, another person say another thing, and you wonder, which one's right? It's like Joshua.

When he was about to enter into Canaan's land and he saw this guy with a flaming sword He goes over and stands. Who are you? Are you for us or our enemies? And of course the Lord says, (because we know who it was;) "take off your sandals off your feet because you're standing on holy ground." Right there, He's identifying the fact that you're thinking isn't gonna work in this circle.

It's not gonna work right here. You're gonna have to humble yourself, and kneel before Me and hear what I'm saying. Joshua says, " are you for us or for our enemies?" And the Lord says, "no." What an answer! "No!" I'm not for you or for your enemies. I'm for My Word. I'm for what I want in this situation.

What are we going to do, Lord? How are we going to function? What are You going to speak? Hear my voice. Know My ways. Understand what I understand, hear what I'm speaking. Don't be taken off into some thing that takes you way off of what I'm speaking. Hear My voice. This is one of the things that's really important. That we hear what He's speaking, we know His voice, and we listen.

The most valuable thing that we possess is that relationship, and that ability to hear His voice. And to recognize His moving in the earth. How do we get that? It's by knowing His Word. What is the voice of the Lord in this situation? Because the last thing I want to do is fight God on what He wants.

Here's the thing that I think all of us are facing in this day that we're living. There are so many crucial things going on in the earth right now. And we can start naming them and get all confused about what's the mind of the Lord in this? What's the mind of the Lord in that? It's all about a relationship that we all have with the Lord. And knowing His voice and hearing what He's saying. We're not going to be taken off of our walk with God by the all these other voices. And you say "why are we talking about hearing from the Lord?"

Because that is the most important thing that we can do as individual parts of the body of Christ: hear what He's speaking. Hear what He's speaking, not what people are saying, not what people are trying to get us to do. But what is God speaking? What is the Lord speaking? This is the pathway into knowing the depth of God's love for you.

It’s knowing Him and knowing His voice. It's not about knowing a program or knowing what people want you to do. It's about knowing Him and His pathway. God is lighting up our pathway for us to walk in. Be careful that you are hearing the voice of the Lord, and not the voice of those who would steer you in the way they think you ought to go.

Anything that takes us away from our consciousness of the Lord Jesus Christ has some element of deception in it. There's a lot of voices out there. Some of them God is in to a measure. We can easily be carried away in the name of the Lord, I'm talking about, and yet miss the revelation of Christ that’s to be revealed to us.

God is in the process of causing everything in our lives and our focus to fade until we're just seeing Him. It's like that's the real plumb line. Is this taking me deeper into a revelation of Jesus Christ, or is it really pulling me away from Him, even though what's pulling may seem to be of God. He's demanding of a people that He's brought forth.

If they're going to see Him, and only Him. Jesus said, "I have many more things to say to you and you can't bear them now, but the Holy Spirit will lead you into it." As we're able to bear it, that is the grace of God. That there's many things that God yet wants to reveal to us. We're not yet fully prepared to see, but He'll show us. His grace and love is with us, as He perfects us until we can bear everything He wants to say.

He's going to show us things you never dreamed of. He said, “I have many more things to tell you, many more things to show you, but you're not ready yet.” Why? Because it's all about the Lordship of Jesus Christ. It's all about knowing Him. We are in a day of hearing what God is speaking through a many membered body.
