Ron:
Welcome to Live Behind the Veil. I'm Ron, your host, and today we are talking about moving beyond just knowing about God and into experiencing Him in a living real way. In this episode, we explore what it means for the word of God to truly come alive within us, not as information we understand with our minds, but as a reality we encounter in our spirit.
Growth in Christ doesn't come through knowledge alone, but through relationship, through experience, and through walking with him in every circumstance, as we open our hearts to him, allow his word to be imparted within us and learn to be led by the spirit, we begin to discover a life that is no longer just talked about but lived.
Ed:
We have to grow in Christ. If we're not growing, we're not moving.
Dale:
Growth comes by that word experience. We can read it, we can talk about it, but it comes right down to it. You have to experience it.
Ron:
We have to grow our faith and how do we grow it? We have to experience Christ either through one another or an experience some way.
Through circumstances, through whatever, however you experience Him. It's not just talking about the word, it's not talking about the Lord. It's actually experiencing Him in a reality.
Ken:
And the Word says, faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word. It's about the Word being imparted to your spirit and coming alive to you on a personal level.
Dale:
We have to open up and let Him truly take up His abode within us.
Ken:
You can speak all day about the Word of God, but if somebody's not open in their spirit to hear it, it doesn't become a living Word to them.
Debbie:
They have to experience it, and then it becomes alive to them because it's something that they know.
Otherwise they know about it. They hear about it, but they don't know it in their heart until they experience it. And how do you get that? You ask 'em for it. Lord, I wanna experience you. I wanna experience Your presence. I have an experience with You where You come and You meet me, and it's my experience.
Ken:
If you've just heard about the Word, that's not good enough. You have to hear the Word . The Word must become real to you in your own heart if it doesn't come like that, you really haven't heard it yet.
Ron:
The Word is to create Christ in us. Jesus told the Pharisees, you searched the scriptures to try to find life, but these are they that testify of me.
The Word must be alive. It must be living in you. It must be an experience to you.
Ken:
Now Christ in us, the hope of glory. Yes, we have an experience with the Lord. We know that He saved us, is his Word living in us. On one level you can see yes. On another level. There's more, and as we hear the Word and let it become imparted to our spirit, not to our mind.
Our mind is the enemy of God. It's the enemy of the Word of God, but our spirit is the one that we want to see come alive in the Lord. That's the spirit that God is going to bless and draw in and have relationship with, not the mind. The mind will always, always throw you off track.
Debbie:
It's always based on a relationship.
You have to have that relationship with the Lord. Where He comes to you and you have a real relationship with experiencing the presence of the Lord. Then the Word comes alive to you. 'cause that is the Word, but only to the point where it meets you. And then you just stop and wait. I stop and I wait.
And I think about it that the Word becomes life to us, not just a thing to do or just a thing to hear.
Dale:
When you're reading the scriptures and that scripture comes alive to you and you stop and you turn your heart and your focus to the Lord and let Him speak to you more on this particular subject, then it becomes what you eat.
What do you eat? What do you drink? What do you think it becomes your whole life? Your whole being. That's what leads us into one thing that God really wants, and that's a relationship with us and us with Him. When the Word becomes everything, it's what I think about in the morning. It's what I think about at night.
It's on the tip of my tongue through the day.
Ken:
Knowing about the Word is not good enough. Knowing all the scriptures is not even good enough. It's about knowing Him. Those who are led by the Spirit. I don't see a place there for the mind. It's by the Spirit. These are the sons of God. And so the spirit is the eternal part of us that relates to God.
It relates to the Lord Jesus Christ. It relates to the Father. It's everything. Now I know the body and the soul will follow, but the spirit is what must come alive in our spirits to the Lord
Dale:
Christ is the example of that. He broke through through the cross. He followed a whole direction of His Father, that type of devastation that Christ went through on the cross.
Father, why has thou forsaken me? Walking out the Word over His life was not easy. It cost Him His life, and His Father rewarded Him with life everlasting.
Debbie:
Even if He's devastating you, everything around you is falling apart. The Lord wants to know, are you gonna still love Me? Are you still gonna listen to Me?
Are you still gonna have a relationship with Me? I'm still here. I'm with you in the devastation. I'm causing this devastation to make you grow.
Ken:
There's a scripture that's always bothered me in that area, and it goes like this. He that endurance to the end, the same shall be saved. That's an interesting scripture.
What does being saved have to do with being enduring? Enduring means that you hold fast, just like you're talking about. You hold fast to the Lord. In fact, instead of being, taken away, you draw closer. Because the truth is, the Lord is a sustaining part of our being that will complete this whole walk with God in the endurance level. There's nothing that's more important than being led by the spirit in that place where you can endure to the end. The end is the completeness. It's what we've been reaching for all of our lives. We are in the day of the Spirit. And what we do in the Spirit is we speak a living Word.
We must be those oracles of the living Word that we speak, that it penetrates all the outer shell, all the things that surround people, that keep them from hearing. We speak through that by the Word of the Lord.
